Lets plant some trees
Planting trees is one of the most basic of environmental acts. It embraces the beauty of nature, helps clean the environment from the moment of planting forward, and sets one's mind on the well-being of future generations.
Trees are like the lungs of the planet. They breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. Additionally, they provide habitat for birds and other wildlife. But that's not all trees do for us! To see just how much trees are essential to the planet and to humans, take a look at the following:
Trees combat the greenhouse effect, Trees clean the air, Trees provide oxygen, Trees cool the streets and the city, Trees conserve energy, Trees save water, Trees help prevent water pollution etc
Why IPLANTTREES:
The goal of the app is to encourage people to plant more trees.
How do we do that:
1. By making it easy to connect with others: People can create requests if they need a tree/trees. Others can respond to that request and help with planting trees.
2. By making it fun: There is a leaderboard that lets tree planters compete with each other for bragging rights. Users also get badges as they meet certain predefined goals.
3. By sharing: People can share their badges/leaderboard status etc on Facebook
