The United States National Forests:
There are 193 million acres of National Forests in the United States that are managed by the Forest Service.  The Forest Service was established in 1905 and is an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The United States National Parks:
The National Park System consists of nearly 400 different areas covering more than 84 million acres.  There is a National Park in every state except Delaware. 
Yellowstone National Park became the Nation’s first National Park on March l, l872.

Additional Areas to be Planted:
National Forests and National Parks are our primary interest due to the fact that they are government managed, protected areas; however, when appropriate, trees may be planted in other public areas that have sustained significant tree damage.
